Settlements for Distracted Driving Cases on the Rise in Connecticut

The Hartford Courant recently published an article about the uptick of distracted driving settlements in Connecticut.

Distracted Driving Causes Accidents

Texting, reading an e-mail, and pretty much everything we do on phones is compared to drunk driving. Distractions cause lapses in concentration. Even though we call them accidents, it is not an “accident” if it is the result of reckless behavior. Texting is reckless when operating a one- or two-ton car. Texting is all the more reckless when operating a truck on our highways, which can weigh up to 40 tons (80,000 pounds).

If you have been hit by a distracted driver, contact a Connecticut accident lawyer today. We can help.
