Local Lawyer Charged With Larceny

Attorney in Hartford Steals from Client

Another one appears to be going down. One lawyer is too many. Attorney Wayne Francis was financially over his head in debt, as reported by the Hartford Courant. Even if he once had liability insurance what are the odds that a lawyer in trouble will continue to pay for this insurance? Connecticut needs legislation obligating lawyers to carry insurance, to maintain the insurance, and to inform their clients if they decrease their coverage. Clients should be careful to ask their lawyers if they have insurance.

We sue lawyers and we are loud about it because it is the right thing to do. If a lawyer screws up, he or she should pay the damages they caused. See our post from some years ago regarding lawyers who do not have insurance.
