Jody practices primarily in the areas of business and landlord tenant law. Clients often are the individual owner or the actual business such as a partnership limited liability company or a corporation. It might involve a dispute between owners, the formation, maintenance, restructuring, transfer, and dissolution of a business entity. Jody enjoys advising clients on a variety of transactional matters, especially those involving contract drafting, interpretation and application. Jody has experience with startups, mergers, sales, and acquisitions of many types in a variety of industries.
Jody also advises both commercial and residential clients in landlord tenant disputes, and represents landlords in summary process actions.
After 17 years with the Michael F. Dowley Law Firm in Middletown, we at Stanger Stanfield Law, LLC are pleased that she has found a new home here and will be starting on May 13 at Stanger Stanfield Law, LLC. Her work with Mike Dowley provided her a wealth of experience.
Jody graduated cum laude from the University of Connecticut at Storrs with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Anthropology in 1992. She earned her law degree cum laude from Western New England College School of Law in 1996. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and the United States District Court, District of Connecticut. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association.
In her spare time, Jody enjoys riding her horse, watching her three children’s basketball and soccer games, as well as skiing, hiking, and paddle boarding with her family in Vermont.
