About Jane

Jane began practicing law in Connecticut over forty years ago. She has broad based experience as both a litigator and a transactional attorney. Jane’s legal practice has focused on business transactions and real estate matters including the following:

  • Commercial lending, representing both private clients and lenders;
  • Secured transactions;
  • Commercial leasing;
  • Business entity formation;
  • The purchase and sale of businesses;
  • Corporate, commercial and real estate litigation.

In addition, Jane has represented real estate developers for permitting before land use boards and agencies including planning and zoning commissions, zoning boards of appeal and wetlands agencies. She was actively involved in the land use approval process for Blue Back Square in West Hartford.

Jane is a graduate of the Chaffee School, Goucher College and the University of Connecticut Law School. She was the first Chief Judge of the tribal courts established by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and the Mohegan Tribe. In addition, she has served as an attorney trial referee hearing cases in the Connecticut Superior Court.

Since joining Stanger Stanfield Law in 2015, Jane has also provided paralegal support to the firm’s attorneys in litigation and transactional matters.
